Is carpet the worst possible surface for infection control?

A question from the HCD08 Conference.

Anyone with a carpet in their home knows that carpets are difficult to clean and they are dust and dirt magnets.

I ask the panel - can each of you suggest a flooring material for us in patient areas that is worse than carpet from an infection control point of view?
