Ardis Hutchins is the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics Facilities in-house Architect and Head of UWHC Interiors Division. Along with her staff of three, Ardis is responsible for space planning; interior design; establishing and maintaining interior finishes and furniture standards; furniture layouts; and furniture specifications for all UWHC facilities. She works closely with end users, consulting architects, engineers, interior designers, lighting consultants, general contractors, construction managers, in-house trades people, an art coordinator, UWHC purchasing department, and numerous vendors for owner furnished products. Ardis is the Architect of record for all remodeling projects in the inpatient areas of the main hospital and various small projects throughout the UWHC system.  She is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and Master’s of Architecture. Her undergraduate major was Interior Architecture. Her graduate work focused on Environmental Behavior Research/ Rural Elderly Housing.  She is a professional member of AIA and IIDA and has broad, diverse, experience from living and working for architecture firms in five states: Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Ardis’ hobbies include gardening, exercising, reading, and spending time with her husband Greg, two grown children, Luke and Christine, and family pets, Lacey and Juliet.
